We're on to a new form of energy... "It's Electric!"

To begin our new unit on electrical energy, our 4th grade students formed circuits to discover which common household items are conductors of electricity.  They tried lighting a bulb by adding various objects into their circuits including coins, popsicle sticks, pencil lead, paper clips, keys, clothes hangers, bobby pins, and several other items found around our classroom.

To add to our excitement about electrical energy, Chandler brought in materials from home and taught us how electrical circuits can do more than just light bulbs.. The students loved seeing how energy changes from one form to the next!
