From division to dissection, writing on our desks is tons of fun!

Understanding that division is the separation of an amount into equal groups, our 4th graders used counters, dry erase markers, and our very own desks to practice solving these problems.  We discovered that the “leftovers” that wouldn’t work into our equal groups were called remainders!

In 4th grade science we are studying the different ways scientists classify plants and animals.  Last week we dissected tulips to identify and locate the male and female parts of a flower and discussed the role each plays in plant reproduction.  We quickly discovered there’s MUCH more to know about a plant than just the leaves, stem, and flower!

Candy Canes and Christmas Fun!

These fourth graders used the scientific method to investigate how different liquids affect the dissolving of one of our favorite Christmas treats—the candy cane!

Our FARMTastic Field Trip!

We had an absolute blast getting our hands dirty while learning about our region’s role in agriculture at Mississippi State’s FARMTastic!

Before heading to the livestock barn, we went to Sunflower United Methodist Church to hear about Delta Grace ministries.  The students learned how people from all over the nation have traveled to Sunflower to join Delta Grace in sharing the love of Christ through serving his children.

“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”

-Luke 13:14-17
